“Do you remember that drink I text you about the chocolate cake shooters?”
“Ooh yes.” Laura's tongue is practically hanging out of her mouth.
The bartender places the two drinks in front of us. “Well here you go,” I laugh, picking up my drink.
“Wait.” Laura covers her hand over my drink. “A toast. To a quick and painless night and to the best friend a girl could ever have.”
I laugh and we clink glasses. “I feel like I should just say amen to that, but to my girl Laura, I love you more than cake even the liquid form.” And I tip my head and let the butter chocolate liquid drain down my throat. “Oh Elvis,” I say melodically as an Elvis impersonator starts singing ‘One Night with You.’
“I will never understand your obsession with Elvis, but it makes you all the more endearing.” I watch Laura drain her shot. “Holy shit. That was divine. Two more.” She waves at the bartender holding up two fingers.
